The Warriors face the Celtics in a critical game Sunday night, trailing 1-0 in the NBA Finals after losing Thursday night at Chase Center. The NBA on Sunday morning revealed the officials for Game 2.
Veteran official Zach Zarba will be the crew chief for tonight's game, with Tony Brothers (referee) and Josh Tiven (umpire) filling out the on-court crew. Marc Davis will be manning the replay center.
The Warriors are 49-39 overall in games officiated by Zarba and 51-61 in games officiated by Brothers, whose career stretches back to the 1994-95 season. They're 23-18 in Tiven's games.
They have lost both games officiated by Zarba this postseason, though one was the 39-point blowout loss to the Grizzlies in the second round. The other was Game 4 of the Western Conference finals when Golden State failed to close out the Mavericks in Dallas.
Zarba is working his ninth Finals. Brothers and Tiven are working their 11th and third, respectively.
The officiating in Game 1 was not a major storyline as the Warriors collapsed in the beginning of the fourth quarter, blowing a 12-point lead and losing 120-108 even despite holding Jayson Tatum to 12 points on 3-of-17 shooting.
The pool of officials for the series includes: Brothers (11th Finals), James Capers (11th Finals), Davis (11th Finals), Kane Fitzgerald (4th Finals), Scott Foster (15th Finals), John Goble (6th Finals), David Guthrie (5th Finals), Courtney Kirkland (2nd Finals), Eric Lewis (4th Finals), Tiven (3rd Finals), James Williams (2nd Finals) and Zarba (9th Finals).
