June was my busiest reading month of the year. I had almost a week off
following dental surgery and spent most of that time reading. I mainly focused
on options from the Bit About Books Summer Reading Challenge, and I made significant
progress, but reading 31 books in one month is too much for me. I spent too
much thinking about the challenge rather than the enjoyment of reading, and I also read too
many ebooks, which negatively affected my reading pleasure. School ended here today (June 30th) so work gets busy as I kick into summer reading program mode. I need to enjoy my downtime at home, so it's good to recognize the imbalance so I can correct it for summer.
Halfway Through 2022
Looking for some 2022 recommendations that I loved? Here are 8 that I would highly recommend for middle-grade readers.
Pride Month Recommendations
I wanted to read some 2022 middle-grade books that had LGBTQIA+ representation for Pride Month, and here are some titles that I would recommend (I'd also add The Best Liars in Riverview by Lin Thompson.
Bit About Books Summer Reading Challenge
I'm working on a post to update my progress on the challenge, but so far I've finished the Family + Friends trail and have several others near completion. I'm also thinking about creating a couple of my own "Off The Grid" trails so stay tuned for that.
Next Month
In July, I plan to continue with the summer reading challenge. I also need more physical books and fantasy reads so I have a pile of those ready to go. I'm going to take part in the #MGReadathon, so I hope you'll join us on July 15th-17th.
How was your reading month?
