Sister Amy
Amy's legs are hairy
and she knows how to pray.
I don't know the words
to the Lakota songs,
but Amy sings along.
In spirit, she's my sister
and sister to the hawk.
We dance barefoot on Mother Earth.
We laugh and cry our tears.

After Your Hanblecheyapi
Dance the Circle round;
dance to Mother's heartbeat.
Be ONE with the drum,
the heartbeat of The People.
Dance for Mother Earth Powwow, Ann Arbor, MI 2014 Listen, listen,
The People bring messages.
It takes a quiet mind to hear them
in the midst of the dance.
Send a voice, send a voice
to the winds, to the Spirits.
Join the chorus in harmony
with The People.
Sing
and dance
up the dawn.
