This will be a rather short article. Just a nondescript but functional playground that does the trick to keep toddlers and pre-schoolers somewhat entertained. This one is buried within a cluster of public housing. Located next to block 327 along Clementi Avenue 5.
No prizes for guessing. This is a Playcraft Systems equipped playground (see below for the ubiquitous logo — which looks like the iron cross but is supposed to be a rendering of three kids holding hands).
The playground isn't meant for really young children as the obstacles are not that accessible. To reach even the lowest level slide, your child would need to climb some sort of obstacle — there aren't any stairs. Our little girl can now reach the highest slides as the obstacles (holes cut into the metal sheet walls) are fairly easy for her.
On this occasion, we came around the vicinity of the playground to pass some time as the missus needed to go to the nearby Clementi Mall to get something from sports equipment store Decathlon.
The neighbourhood around the playground actually has some gems. There is a row of tropical fish aquariums amongst which are Arowana Avenue and LFS Aquarium. We were supposed to have spent the time here but it was quite crowded and little one was a bit put off. So that's how we ended up at the playground.
The slides were still a bit wet from the rain earlier in the day so after just one go at the slides, the little girl decided to play shop keeper instead with one of the panels below the playground. Someone had the brilliant idea to place a plastic stool there. So it was a very proper setup. Sadly, business was slow….
Little one spent sometime playing a bored shopkeeper. This was in a way quite fun. Would've been even more fun if she had some little companions but she was able to use her imagination so that's great.
So that's it for another instalment of this blog. Things are looking up in terms of the pandemic in Singapore. Fingers crossed that we keep things in the right trajectory. Hope things are looking up for anyone's reading this too! Stay healthy and safe everyone.
