RICHMOND — A Vallejo woman has been arrested and charged with shooting a family member inside of a moving vehicle on Interstate 80 in Richmond, court records show.

Jamesha H. Lockhart, 30, was charged Feb. 22 with attempting to kill the family member in the Feb. 17 shooting, and with assaulting a fellow inmate at the Richmond jail the following day. Her bail has been set at $2.06 million, records show.

Police say the shooting occurred near the San Pablo Damn Road exit on Interstate 80. Lockhart was a passenger and the victim was driving.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to authorities. Police have not disclosed the suspected motive.

The day after her arrest, Lockhart allegedly attacked a woman inside an adjacent cell at the West Contra Costa Detention Facility. She has been charged with assault likely to produce great bodily injury in that incident.

Lockart's next scheduled court appearance has been set for Wednesday afternoon, according to court records.
