Sharks forward Andrew Cogliano said his youngest daughter, Olive Bea, was hospitalized for the second time in four months over the weekend.

Cogliano, 34, said Tuesday that Olive, who turned one year old in January, was admitted to a local hospital Saturday for another emergency, but has since been able to return home.

"She was admitted and we were there for a couple of days," Cogliano said after the Sharks' 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. "She's doing well now. She's back at home, which is great. Obviously was taken very good care of at the hospital."

Cogliano was away from the team on Saturday and Sunday when the Sharks played the Boston Bruins and Seattle Kraken, respectively. He re-joined the team on their flight from San Jose to Las Vegas on Monday afternoon.

"Our doctors helped out a lot and I owe them a lot of credit. They're great people," Cogliano said. "We've had a couple of scares with her and obviously it was a little sensitive, so I needed a couple of days to take care of my family and take care of my daughter and was able to get back."

Olive was also hospitalized in late November when the Sharks were on the road. Cogliano stepped away from the team for a few days to be with his wife, Allie, and their oldest daughter, Lottie, who turned three years old in mid-January.

"My job is hockey and no one loves the game more than me," Cogliano said in December. "But my first priority is being a dad and my girls at home."

Sharks coach Bob Boughner said he left it up to Cogliano to decide whether he wanted to fly with the team to Las Vegas. Cogliano played 13:00 and assisted on Noah Gregor's second-period goal in the Sharks' 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. Cogliano, who signed a one-year contract with the Sharks in July, has 14 points in 48 games this season.

The Sharks' next game is Saturday at home against the Nashville Predators.
