While it has been a great global tragedy with immeasurable loss, the pandemic forced us to learn many new things, and not all of them were related to disease-prevention and treatment.

For many people, the COVID pandemic deprived us of our normal, social pursuits and catalyzed new learning, growth, and personal development.

Weirdly, the pandemic made me write a book.

lisa & Cathy, Hollerfest Volunteers

In the before times, YpsiWrites had started planning a collaboration with a community garden. YW co-director, Cathy Fleischer, knew of my dual expertise in outdoor education and writing, and asked me to come on board for the collab. I said yes. I was excited about the possibilities...

And then the pandemic hit, and in-person gatherings were no more, so this happened...

In response to COVID-19, YpsiWrites volunteer lisa edy wrote two nature-focused
prompts each week, one focused on being indoors and one focused on being outdoors.
Since completion of the project, YpsiWrites staff has been working with lisa to revise and
edit these prompts and compile them into a book. The work done on this book reflects
YpsiWrites' dedication to providing writers with materials that inspire writing.

YpsiWrites Annual Report 2021

The book-making process is in its final stages now.

I don't have an exact date yet, but it will be released soon. Stay tuned...
