ARLINGTON, Va. – Senior attackman Jude Brown (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) put up a career-high six tallies Wednesday afternoon as the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team rallied from four down for their fourth consecutive win. St. Mary's College (4-0) posted a come-from-behind 18-13 triumph over the host Marymount (Va.) University Saints (1-2).
How It Happened
Sophomore attackman Johnny McGrain (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) landed the Seahawks on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal at 13:04 before Marymount responded by scoring seven of the next nine goals to stake a 7-3 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
It was all Seahawks in the second period as Brown found the back of the net four times to return the lead to St. Mary's College, 10-7, with 2:22 to go in the first half. Senior long-stick midfielder Jacob Hendricks (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Calverton) and sophomore defenseman Ethan Little (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) capped off the 9-0 run to send the visitors into halftime with a 12-7 lead.
Marymount outscored the Seahawks, 3-2, in the third frame to trim the deficit to 14-10 before heading into the final quarter.
St. Mary's College edged the hosts, 4-3, in the fourth period as the Seahawks notched four of the final six goals. First-year midfielder Quinnten Hatfield (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) tallied a goal and an assist to lead SMCM in the fourth.

The Seahawks outshot Marymount, 66-32, on their way to a season-best 18 goals while St. Mary's College claimed the ground ball battle, 40-33, as Little picked up a game-high six ground balls.
Junior midfielder Mitch Boudreau (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) won 11-of-21 face-offs and senior midfielder Samuel Jaudon (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) went 5-of-8 to help the Seahawks edge the hosts in face-off wins, 17-16.
Both sides scored two man-up goals.
Player Highlights
Brown finished the afternoon with his 13th career hat trick, notching a season-best seven points on a career-high six goals and an assist. He also added a career-best three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
First-year midfielder Aiden Doyle (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) recorded his first career hat trick with four goals plus an assist for five points while McGrain chipped in two goals and two assists.
Little, who paced the defense with career-bests of six ground balls and three caused turnovers, also contributed his first career hat trick with three goals.
Senior captain Kyrle Preis (Upper Falls, Md./Loyola Blakefield) came away with eight saves.
Charlie Wittich led the Saints in their second loss of the season with three goals and two assists while Brandon Hall registered 18 stops.
