When most people hear Tampa they automatically think of Tampa, Florida.

In fact, I would bet my entire life savings that the majority of even the state of Kansas

doesn't know that there is another Tampa and that it is right here in

Kansas. Oh and spoiler alert, it is home to one of the best small town

restaurants I have ever been to. Scroll down to read more about

If you blinked you might miss the small town of Tampa and the

Sante Fe Trail Cafe that serves the little community. 

Located at: 303 Main St, Tampa, KS 67483

You walk in through the front door of the restaurant and are immediately

in the open seating area where you get to choose your own table.

My fam grabbed a 6 person table in the middle of the room and our

waitress was at our table almost immediately. We ordered off the

specials menu which I highly recommend on a Sunday (they do have a

full menu of other food such as burgers you can order from as well although most people go

with the specials). The specials for Sunday include your choice of

chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, or roast beef plus mashed

potatoes, veggies (corn or green beans usually), roll, and ice cream for dessert.

I chose to go with the chicken fried chicken with corn as my veggie.

Y'all I have been to many restaurants and any time I see chicken fried

chicken on the menu I order it. This chicken fried chicken though is

hands down the best I have ever had. Yup. That's right. The BEST I have

EVER had. It has amazing flavor, is juicy, and the breading is perfectly

seasoned and actually stays on the chicken. Seriously, I could eat this meal

from here almost every single day.

My dad ordered the roast beef with both veggies.

He said his food was greeeeeeat as always, which was definitely

evidenced by how fast he ate it all! Lol

For dessert my dad went with chocolate ice cream which

came out scooped high to the heavens.

I on the other hand had noticed earlier someone at another table

got a piece of chocolate pie (of course I noticed lol) so I asked

our waitress about it and ended up getting the last slice. Boo-yah!

This pie was pretty dang good. Definitely rich though. If the piece

had been bigger I might not have been able to make it through

the whole thing, but this time it was just the right size.

Y'all I seriously love this cafe. The food is amazing, the service is

amazing, and the atmosphere is so chill. It's like you are eating

Sunday dinner at home with the fam and I highly recommend you drive

on out to Tampa, KANSAS to try it out for yourself!
