Tuesdays are now our favorite day of the week, because we have the chance to know and tell you about incredible architectural projects. More search equals more surprises. There are really talented architects and interior designers that are making true art. The architecture and design are so awesome that makes us want to move every week... For real! But, enough with the talking and let's get to action. Get to know this Design Tuesday project of a country-style home in Santa Ynez Valley, California.
The Farm: A Luxury Country-Style Home
The hilltop in the countryside of Santa Ynez, California is the perfect place for The Farm since the surroundings have beautiful and natural landscapes. The architecture of this place is by Brandon Architects. The main architectural focus of this residence is the connections between indoor-outdoor living. The open plans and separation between the living and sleeping areas are an important focus too. In that way, it is created a family-friendly relaxing gateway.
The residence is ideal for gathering all the family and friends since it has enough room up to 16 guests. It has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, an infinity-edge swimming pool, a spa, and even a bunkhouse over the garage, that has a connection to the main house through a modern metal and glass hall.
The indoor living space has an open plan where the rustic fireplace is the focal point. On the side, pocketing door systems open to create an indoor and outdoor space into the pool patio and front porch. In fact, the use of these kinds of doors/windows is very common in this country-house style to create connected spaces.
The bunkhouse (over the garage) has a bunk room, bedroom, and bath.
Interior design was the responsibility of Blackband Design and took into account all the surroundings of the place. The rustic style is blended with luxury and modernity.
Earthy tones, rich textures, and natural metals are some of the decor details that are present in the house. The outside has oak trees hundreds of years old that were preserved during the construction. The design focus was also on the expansive views of the valley and vineyard.
