If you're in you're 20s you might have had lessons growing up on how to stay safe on the Internet. Most (if not all) of those lessons had to do with stranger danger, and not data, privacy or security.

So how can you keep your data safe?

  1. Make your passwords secure, don't use names or birthdays. Use a mix of letters, numbers and symbols as well as a mix of upper and lowercase for letters.
  2. Change those ^ often!
  3. Don't use the same passwords across accounts, if someone guesses one account's password you don't want them to have access to everything else too.
  4. Enable two-factor authentication where possible, especially with really sensitive information like bank accounts or work files.
