We leave our guests completely alone during their stays so they can enjoy the silent seclusion in a way that is rare these days. The downside is that we rarely get to meet them. But sometimes a guest interacts with us through Facebook, Instagram, or Messaging so much that we feel like we've known each other for years.

This post is about one of those guests. He is a patriotic man who loves nature, his wife of over 40 years, and God. He enjoys sunsets (especially at the cabin), traveling, politics, and getting away from it all in quiet secluded places. His first stay at the cabin was in 2020 as he and his wife celebrated our nation's Independence Day surrounded by nature instead of crowds. I love the way he documented his stay (and meals) at the cabin through Facebook posts. Here's some of what Mr. B had to say about our place and how they rekindled their love for each other and nature! (Note: minor editing of quotes for anonymity and clarity.)

"We were looking for a place to unplug, reconnect in communication and rekindle our intimacy in a rustic and private setting, and we found it in Caddo Gap, Arkansas at Caddo Mountain.

"Tonight, Escargot in garlic butter, Irish cheddar and wine sautéed crab cakes. Of course, an Austrian Rose'. Music, compliments of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Happy and patriotic 4th to all!

"Tonight.... applewood smoked bacon wrapped shrimp, butter/garlic sautéed lobster tail, tomato and basil egg pasta, and Austrian Rose'. Listening to Michael Buble' and Ed Sheeran. No masks required here!

"As you go, proclaim the message..." Matthew 10:7

"You won't believe the therapy of Caddo Mountain. If you are looking for a perfect place to be restored and renewed, this is the place. My wife and I needed to get "away" from life and tech to heal and renew our minds. This remote cabin is easy to get to but far away from it all. Perched above the Caddo River, it's like you are in a tree house with a canopy view of the tree tops - great for bird watching. The owners thought of everything you'll need. Wrap around porch. Multi-level decks galore. Fully equipped, including extra beds and game area for kids, but we recommend this very private cabin for just grown ups. And, wait until you experience their one of a kind outdoor shower and tub overlooking the river. Rustic theme, soft lights and lots of opportunity to get romantic. My wife and I have been all over (France, Italy, Alaska, Canada, Central America, Caribbean Islands, and many remote cabins in Arkansas). If you need peace, privacy and restoration - there is no better place. We are coming back! B & L 2020"
