Are you ready?

Burgtheater

The best architectural building in Austria that shows the opulence of 19th-century Imperial Vienna is the Burgtheater. This building was also known as Imperial Court Theater was only ready in 1888 after many years of construction. Although the building suffered a wide restoration because of the damage caused by World War II, the architects responsible for the building were Karl von Hasenauer and Gottfried Semper. They are also responsible for projects like the Museum of Art History and Natural History Museum.

The Burgtheater is a space for performing arts and in its interiors, you will find busts of writers and statues of allegorical figures. If the building's exterior is luxurious, wait to see the interior decor. Gustav Klimt was the interior designer responsible and it marked the space with stucco ornament and frescoes.

The Stephansdom

The Stephansdom, also known as St. Stephen's Cathedral and Steffi, is one of the most cherished buildings in Austria. The cathedral was constructed in the 12th century, outside the city walls but, at the end of World War II the church was severely damaged and the Viennese citizens spent long years rebuilding it so, it is natural the local's love for this building.

This place is still operating as a church and it has celebrations every Sunday, but it has much affluence especially during special festivities like Christmas. Although this building is much more than a cathedral, it is a center of architectural art receiving millions of visitors each year.

Schönbrunn Palace

A place where you get to know more about Austria's history and where it is possible to contemplate true artworks. Let me present you, the Schönbrunn Palace.

It was used as a summer residence for the Habsburg Monarchy, and it was designed by Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Entering this palace is like true time travel, especially due to the original conditions of the space and the furnishings.

Among other extraordinary things, here you can find (get ready to be surprised) an imitation of Roman ruins and a zoo. The palace's gardens have an impressive maze that will make the landscape even more special and unique. You can't sleep in this palace but it is not a room problem. The property has 1,441 rooms, but only 40 of them are visited.

You won't want to miss the Hall of Mirrors. It was in that same room, that Mozart, with only 6 years old, played for Empress Maria Theresa.
