The home office could easily describe the last two years of the world. We had to adjust and adapt in a way we probably never thought we would have to.

Our home became more than our haven. It also became a place of work where we had to adjust our daily routine and adapt. Bringing work home also means bringing all the tech, all the chargers, the monitors, and using our wi-fi. And that will raise your bill for sure. That change was easy for some but harder for others.

On that note, if remote work is your reality right now, I bring you some ways you can save up some energy that I hope will help you at the end of the month.

Create your own space

When working at home I found out it was necessary to establish my work zone. So that at the end of the day I could log off from it all and feel at peace and like I just got out of the office and went home. Besides that, it's a great form to save up some energy because you stay in the same room and don't have other things with power in other rooms.

Choose the right lighting

Light consumes tons of energy, especially now that we spend even more time at home. For that, my solution for you is to find the perfect chandelier for your desk. In that way, you can substitute the overhead lights during the day, and if your home allows, let the natural light shine. It will lift your mood and help your bills at the end of the month.

Take turn charging

The home office also means tons of tech at home that you were used to use at the office. Consider setting up a charging station with a smart power trip. Turn off your computer charger if the battery is full instead of having it plugged in during the whole day.

Smart thermostat

Installing a smart thermostat may help you save up a little more. You can make your home more energy-efficient, and it will help you control the temperature of your home – and the cost! This smart thermostat, like Google Learning Thermostat, can remember how you use your home to generate a schedule automatically.
