🏛️ Black History Month
February celebrates Black History Month. The National Park Service helps preserve and share important stories of African American history through memorials to historic schools, homes, and communities throughout the country. This month is a reminder that our national parks protect not just land, but the stories of people who shape our world.
Watch this short, but powerful video created by the National Park Service. The film, "Twenty & Odd," explores the legacy of more than 400 years of the African American experience. The narrative for this film is Maya Angelou’s amazing piece, “Still I Rise.”
