Frances set up @whymummywalks to share her love of getting out and about in the glorious countryside of Hampshire and beyond to improve both fitness and focus.
We've been inspired by her latest adventure, which is perfect for history and nature lovers and has the added bonus of some lovely views across the South Downs National Park.
She tells us more about it:
THE HAMPSHIRE HOG TO WAR DOWN AND BUTSER: 7.5 MILES
The Queen Elizabeth Country Park has been occupied since the Bronze Age, and War Down is home to at least seven burial mounds. It is one of the highest points in Hampshire.
This walk uses many of the excellent off-road trails within the QECP, and there are plenty of options to make it longer or more challenging.
I wasn't feeling 100%, so I took the more leisurely option, without regret! There is a visitor centre, with a cafe and toilets and maps around the trails.
Next, I climbed Butser Hill, the imposing chalk grassland that is visible from all over the area. It's an excellent place to spot butterflies in warmer weather and is a recognised dark sky discovery site. The views from the top are exceptional.
It's always a lovely place to spend some time enjoying the South Downs National Park.
